Makati, 08 September 2016 – Credit Information Corporation (CIC) is bringing its Credit Infrastructure roadshow series to Pampanga with a three-day seminar for cooperatives and small and medium enterprises (SME’s). This event is scheduled to take place at the Widus Hotel in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga on September 19, 20 and 21, 2016.
This roadshow series is part of CIC’s nationwide educational campaign to inform various groups about the importance and benefits of having a credit information system, as well as the role of both the CIC and its data submitting/accessing entities in enabling the Credit Information System Act (CISA).
These roadshows of the CIC are being done in collaboration with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), the Philippine Cooperative Center (PCC), the USAID Advancing Philippine Competitiveness (COMPETE) Project, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) – World Bank.
The first two days of the roadshow will focus on cooperatives with a seminar entitled “The Role and Obligation of Co-Ops in Enabling R.A. 9510”. Meanwhile, the third and final day of the roadshow will focus on SME’s with a seminar entitled “Enhancing SME’s Access to Credit Through The Credit Information System”. These seminars will not only feature short talks by speakers from CIC, but also presentations by its special accessing entities (SAE’s). These SAEs are the credit bureaus CRIF, Compuscan, Credit Information Bureau, Inc. and TransUnion. There will also be a hands-on technical workshop on Credit Information System (CIS) compliance.
CIC also plans to hold roadshows in Cagayan de Oro and Metro Manila in the succeeding weeks.
